How can I add users to a group in bulk

Adding existing users to a new group.

This article is for Training Managers and Admins 

 

If you create a new group, and want to add existing users, you can do this one of two ways: 

Option 1 - The bulk upload tool 

You can use the CSV file to create the group and list out the users you'd like adding to it. Please note that any changes you make this way won't remove any users from groups, or any courses they have access to. 


Option 2 - the "add users" function when creating a new group. 

Create the group using the "new group" button:

Name the group as you would want to and then click save. The group will be created. 

Then, to edit the group - find the edit button and click into the group: 

Then navigate to the members section from the menu:

You can then choose to add users from the button in the right hand corner. You will have the option to add a new user, or the alternate tab to select existing users:

You can scroll through your whole existing user list to tick all those you want. You can also search for users in the mini search bar that appears. 

Once you've made all the selection you want, make sure you click the save button for the users to be added to that group. 

Any content that is turned on for that group will be instantly available for users to see. They won't be notified you've added them to any groups.
